Hi! I'm Brittany - lifelong animal lover turned professional pet sitter, and the person who will probably remember your dog's name before yours.
I started my first pet-sitting business in 2005 while attending college in Los Angeles. I was away from home, missing my own animals terribly, and so caring for other people's pets felt like the next best thing.
What started as a college job quickly became something I genuinely loved. More than 20 years later, I've cared for pets of all ages, personalities and needs - and somehow, I still get ridiculously excited every time I get to make a new furry friend.
Animals Have Always Been My Thing
I've been surrounded by animals for as long as I can remember. Dogs, cats, horses, birds - animals have never just been something I love; they've been a part of my entire life.
Horses were an especially big part of my world growing up. I spent years training and competing, in dressage, jumping and endurance racing, and eventually teaching beginner riders myself. Working with horses taught me patience, confidence, and most importantly, how to pay attention to what an animal is communicating without words.
That's something I've carried with me into pet sitting. Every animal has their own personality, boundaries and way of communicating, and I genuinely love figuring out what makes each one feel safe, comfortable and understood.
Why BRITT SITS?
I know how hard it can be to leave your pets behind. They're family, and you want to know they're with someone who will notice all the little things you would care about if you were there.
That's really what BRITT SITS is all about.
I want your pets to feel just as loved and secure when you're away as they do when you're home. That's why I come to them. Instead of changing their environment and disrupting the routines they know, they get to stay home with their own beds, toys, familiar smells and surroundings while I step into their routine and care for them the way they're used to being cared for.
And because leaving your pets can be just as stressful for you, communication is a big part of my care. You'll get regular updates with photos so you always know how everyone is doing, what we've been up to and if anything seems out of the ordinary.
My goal is simple - I want you to come home to happy pets, a well cared-for house and the feeling that you never had to worry in the first place.
My Specialty: The Pets Who Need A Little Extra
I have a special place in my heart for the pets who need a little extra patience, understanding and individualized care.
I've cared for senior pets, anxious or shy animals, pets with separation anxiety, and those who need medications or very specific routines. I know that not every pet is going to greet me at the door like we're already best friends - and that's completely okay.
I've cared for animals with all kinds of personalities and needs, and I've learned that trust isn't something you can force. I let each pet set their pace, pay close attention to their body language and respect their boundaries while we get to know each other.
Sometimes the pets who take the longest to trust you are the ones who make it feel the most special when they do.
Whether your pet needs a slower pace, extra reassurance, medication, a specific routine or simply someone willing to understand their individual quirks, I'll meet them exactly where they are.
A Little More About Me
When I'm not taking care of other people's animals, you'll usually find me spending time with my husband and our pets, listening to Taylor Swift, cooking something delicious, or dreaming about one day having a little more land and even more animals.
I'm definitely a nature girl at heart. I love being around animals, horses, water - anything that gets me outside and away from the noise for a while.
I'm also a huge homebody. I love cooking, reading and catching up on new shows, movies and documentaries.
At the end of the day, I'm pretty simple - give me animals, good food, good music and the people I love, and I'm happy. 💕

I know how much your animals mean to you, and being chosen to care for them while you're away is something I'm genuinely grateful for. You're trusting me with members of your family, your home, and all the little routines and details that matter to you.
One of the best parts of doing this for so many years has been watching nervous pets learn to trust me, seeing familiar faces get excited when I walk through the door, and becoming a small part of so many families' lives along the way.
There's nothing better than knowing your pets are happy to see me, you're able to relax while you're away, and everyone feels a little more at ease because I'm there.
